Premier League: Arsenal-Nottingham & Pablo Marin

Arsenal-Nottingham Forest: Gunners pay tribute to Pablo Mari and regain Premier League lead.

After opening the scoring this Sunday against Nottingham Forest, Gabriel Martinelli presented the jersey of his former teammate Pablo Mari, on loan to Monza and victim of a knife attack on Thursday in a shopping center near Milan.

The club of Mikel Arteta defeated Nottingham Forest this past Sunday (5-0), and they wanted to show their support for Pablo Mari, a player now on loan at Monza who was stabbed on Thursday at a mall.

Dream Sunday for the Gunners under Mikel Arteta. They were brilliantly surpassed at the top of the Premier League by Manchester City the day before, winners at Leicester (0-1), but they responded by thrashing Nottingham Forest (5-0). With an almost perfect record of 10 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, Arsenal continued their incredible journey to the top of the English league and are once again 2 points ahead of the Citizens. This was particularly helped by a double from Reiss Nelson.

After Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli's goal in the first minute of play, the game's most compelling moment occurred in the fifth. He snatched his former teammate Pablo Mari's flocked number 22 shirt while he was out on loan to Monza this year (Serie A). This Spanish defender was shopping with his partner and child in a mall close to Milan on Thursday when he was stabbed in the back by an insane individual.

Pablo Mari, who underwent surgery on Friday following the incident that claimed the life of a Carrefour employee in Assago, Italy, was able to leave the hospital on Sunday. The 29-year-old "has gone home and will now undergo a period of full recuperation," according to his club AC Monza.
