A rival plays a significant role in the Dusty race as Clarko reveals his dream FIVE-player haul: Trade Whispers.

Alastair Clarkson is making every effort to move the rebuild of North Melbourne along as quickly as possible.

Furthermore, the trade period continues to be dominated by two significant contracted stars.

AFL Trade Whispers has the most recent player movement news.

Tanner Bruhn of GWS and Griffin Logue, a tall defender from Fremantle, have been added to Alastair Clarkson's wish list at North Melbourne.

According to reports this week, Clarkson has already spoken to Ben Long of St. Kilda and Junior Rioli of West Coast about moving to Arden Street. Brad Hill is also reportedly considering a move, despite having three years left on his contract with the Saints for a total of five targets.

When the Giants selected Bruhn with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 draft, he signed a two-year contract with the team.

Bruhn, despite the Giants' best efforts to change his mind, is reportedly planning to return to Victoria during the trade period, according to The Age. Clarkson has reportedly spoken with Bruhn.

Tim Taranto is likely to choose Richmond as his club of choice, with an offer thought to be in excess of $700,000 per season, while Geelong is one of the clubs interested in Bruhn and is expected to sign teammate Jacob Hopper as well.

Griffin Logue, a Dockers back who is currently out of contract, is reportedly a target for the Kangaroos, according to AFL Media.

Logue has received a new contract offer from Fremantle, but after a year in which he played at both ends of the field and in the ruck, he has drawn interest from Victorian rivals in particular.

Ben McKay is impressive but a free agent after this season, and Aidan Corr hasn't quite lived up to the hype since joining the team from GWS at the end of 2020. The Kangaroos in particular need important defensive help.

Trades are made more challenging by the Roos' lack of a pick after pick No. 1 in this year's draft until pick No. 55.

IF A TRADE REQUEST ARISE, SUNS WILL BE SET ON DUSTY

Gold Coast is a potential suitor should Dustin Martin submit a trade request, but Richmond is still confident that he will be playing for the team in 2023.

Martin has two years left on a deal worth about $1.3 million a season, but he has been mentioned as considering a move interstate for personal reasons.

According to Herald Sun reporter Jon Ralph, who was speaking on Fox Footy, the Tigers anticipated Martin would stay with the team, but the Suns were a potential interested party.

From Brendon Gale onward, Richmond is adamant that Dustin Martin will remain with the team and complete the two years of his $2.6 million two-year deal. His friends in Richmond think the same thing about him and say he isn't really making any moves to leave," he said.

But—and this is a big but—if he wanted to visit a club like Gold Coast, I think they'd be interested in him
.

Despite the fact that Ralph Carr, his manager, is in Los Angeles, they haven't spoken to him, and yet I believe they believe that if he wanted to leave the fishbowl, they would have to rearrange some things because they have the picks and the salary cap room.

They recently lost Izak Rankine, both strategically and from a marketing standpoint. Although I believe he is likely to stay, there is a suitor, so I think the odds are definitely long.

SUITOR GRUNDY DOWN TO ONE

If Brodie Grundy leaves Collingwood, the Herald Sun reports that he will play for Melbourne the following season.

Grundy's lucrative contract has five years remaining, but after meeting with the Dees, there is a growing likelihood that he will part ways with the Pies, who would be willing to pay a portion of his salary cap as part of a deal.

Assuming Luke Jackson plays in West Australia next season, which is highly likely given that Fremantle is outbidding West Coast for his services, Melbourne's interest in Grundy is dependent on Jackson.

Grundy, 28, wants to stay in Melbourne, so Geelong and Port Adelaide were initially in the mix, while the Cats have instead concentrated their efforts on player Jacob Hopper of Greater Western Sydney.
