Benzema will return to the World Cup?

 In a surprising news, Radio Monte Carlo indicated that French star Karim Benzema may return to participate in the 2022 World Cup with the French national team.

The radio reported that Benzema could theoretically be included in the France squad for the World Cup in Qatar, after the Spanish press reported that the Real Madrid striker had already recovered from the injury that seemed to have ruled him out of the tournament.

 Benzema was forced to withdraw from Didier Deschamps' squad ahead of France's first match against Australia.

 The Ballon d'Or winner had been struggling with fitness ahead of the tournament but suffered a new injury upon his return to group training.

However, it appears that Benzema has recovered faster than first thought.

 According to several Spanish media outlets, including Onda Madrid, the Real Madrid striker could return to training in the middle of the week.  It may be that Benzema's World Cup dream is still very much alive.

 According to FIFA rules, Benzema can return to the French national team and compete in the remainder of the tournament, as he was not replaced by another player in the squad, after the injury was announced.

 In the end, the decision is up to French coach Deschamps.

Benzema added, " We have a good group and we will play match after match. It will be the best gift for me if we win the World Cup again."

 And about achieving his dream and winning the Golden Ball award, Benzema said: "It's a wonderful thing, thanks to my Real Madrid team that allowed my dream to come true, as well as Lyon, France. Seeing the fans who support me is extraordinary."

 He continued, "I will be in good shape, I am ready physically and mentally for the World Cup."
